Parents are encouraged to contact the administrator at their child's school of attendance for information about services offered. Browning School District provides a comprehensive special education program that serves students who need individualized educational programs. Depending on need, some students are fully included in general education with modifications and minimal support from special education staff. Other students are taught in the general education classroom with special education supports. Some students receive pull-out services while others spend half or more of their day in a special education classroom.
Our Special Education Department staff includes; special education teachers, paraprofessionals, personal care attendants, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, speech/language pathologists, and school psychologists. Consultation services are available for occupational therapy, behavior, communication for students with Autism, and vision and/or hearing. Personal care attendants are employed for students who need care and monitoring at school.
