Browning School District #9 employs almost 180 teachers and specialists, 141 classified staff, 36 administrative/technical staff, and has 143 extra-curricular positions. Serving over 2,000 students, Browning Public Schools is a vibrant learning community that provides teachers new to the District mentoring support, and provides all our teachers and support staff with a wide variety of district and out of district professional development opportunities. Additionally, each school site has at least one instructional coach to support teachers in implementing adopted curricula and school-specific initiatives.
Browning Public Schools provides a competitive salary, low-premium health insurance for employees and their families, life insurance, and fifteen (15) days discretionary leave per year shall be granted to teachers. All days are discretionary leave, with no difference between sick and personal.
Browning, with a population of around 7,000 people, is located in the heart of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. The Reservation is bordered on the east by Glacier National Park and to the north by Canada. The area in and around the Blackfeet Reservation provides many outdoor recreational opportunities including camping, hunting, fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling.
